In 2003 we decided that to achieve more success and have the ability to grow we needed to give our customers a greater choice therefore it was desirable to outsource parts. This of course would also give our customers a cost advantage in an increased global market. We embarked on a strategy to develop a supply chain in the Far East (China & Taiwan) to enable us to supply our customers fully finished castings/ stampings with cost saving in mind, not comprising quality.
We take great pride in our flexibility to manufacture your prototype samples in our own manufacturing facility in Melksham , we also have great confidence in our supply chain to deliver prototypes, but it is sometimes desirable to manufacture at first in Melksham because of lead times. Then it is your choice where we source the production . This flexibility has allowed us to offer a greater opportunity to all our customers that has hopefully helped them in the competitive global market place.
In many cases we have dual equipment i.e. Patterns/ Tooling in the Far East and UK, the main benefit of this again is enabling us to react very quickly to any demand.
Today Novacast control the total supply chain both in the UK and Far East by regular visits of our QA staff. We accept that we have a very skilled supply chain, however Novacast have a commitment to their customers to control and assure quality and therefore many parts are checked again by our QA department with the use of conventional measuring equipment and also a
CMM (coordinate measuring equipment).
We also use an independent test body to check all the materials, usually for material composition and hardness.
During our development we have also offered our customers the facility to store some stock with us as long as we have order coverage, this has also embedded a bond between us of trust and commitment.
