During a difficult few years for the UK metal casting industry, NovaCast has continued to prosper, largely due to its outward-looking approach to world markets and its willingness to invest in people, technology and infrastructure within its Melksham Foundry…
HIGH TENSILE BRASS HTB1
(BS 1400 1985 HTB1)
High tensile brass castings exhibit high strength and cost less than comparable high strength alloys. HTB1 has good resistance to both corrosion and oxidation. HTB1 castings are often heat treated to restore the alloy structure to its optimum condition and to further increase its resistance to corrosion as a result.
HTB1 and other high tensile brass castings are used extensively for wear-resisting applications because of their strength. It is also used for marine propellers, pump impellers and valve bodies due to its high corrosion resistance.
Chemical Composition – CuZn35AlFeMn
