At NovaCast, a large proportion of our castings are produced using Aluminium alloy. The formation of Aluminium Oxide and the presence of non-metallic inclusions, collectively known as dross, is an inherent part of the casting process and one that must be managed to achieve the highest quality castings. For many years, part of the foundryman’s … Read more

STAINLESS STEEL SA-351 CF8M
Stainless Steel SA-351 CF8M is a molybdenum bearing modification of CF8 Austenitic Steel alloy and is the cast equivalent of wrought AISI 316 stainless steel. The presence of molybdenum increases the general corrosion resistance and the resistance to pitting by chlorides.
Applications include valves, flanges, fittings and other pressure-containing parts. CF8M austenitic stainless steel is a commonly used alloy for products that require excellent overall corrosion resistance. This alloy is commonly used whenever the part will not be welded or can be solution annealed after welding. CF8M may be used at temperatures up to 1500F.
