As part of our commitment to making our business more sustainable and doing our bit to improve the environment we all share, NovaCast has engaged with EcoVadis, the international sustainability ratings platform. We reported in February that we had improved our EcoVadis sustainability score by 61% in the past year.
EcoVadis partners with hundreds of thousands of companies around the world to improve sustainability through a common platform, universal scorecards, benchmarks and performance improvement tools. We have recently published our scorecard and performance results on our website. These show that NovaCast’s overall EcoVadis score places us in the top 8% of metal casting companies on the platform globally.
Kim Little, Sustainability Co-ordinator at NovaCast commented, “We are delighted with the progress we have made since engaging with EcoVadis. We are constantly looking at ways to improve the way we do things. Even the small things, like providing reusable water bottles for our foundry staff to cut down on the use of single-use plastic bottles makes a difference. The scorecards reveal the areas where we need to make more progress but also show those areas where we perform well. It shows just how comprehensive the platform is and how committed we are as a company to reduce the impact we have on the environment”.
